The warehouse is a disaster area. Some old stock MUST be trashed. Exceptions will need be made on a case-by-case basis.

Detailed Information

I will be doing a "trash" session at MDI during December. This is necessary because the warehouse is practically FULL and we must make room for new stock.

Use October to update your stock book and "volunteer" to "trash" leftover amounts that may be floating around in your book. Voluntary trash information will be due to me NO LATER than October 31, 2000.

Certain items will be trashed on an INVOLUNTARY basis. Please recall, during the 1999 gang presentation, I noted that at the end of this year, all non-2000 shells would need to be trashed.

None of you will be out much individually, although those of you with numerous publications may see a bigger hit.

Let's take an example. Our most expensive components to trash are SHELLS. These usually cost $19/M or less. Even if you have to trash 10M of these, you're out only about $200. And if it's been sitting for two years, how useful was it to begin with?

Why? The transition to stock suitable for use with double window carriers has made it very difficult to complete jobs accurately when using old stock, or a combination of new an old - there's almost always some type of problem. I allowed a twelve month grace period to use up shells that were not double- window compatible. As of December 31, 2000, that grace period is over and out it goes.

Some non-2000 shells may be saved, but ONLY if they are completely compatible with double window carriers. You'll know if your old shells are compatible if they have a SMILEY FACE drawn on them.
