Packages reviewed and discussed during group and/or individual sessions.

Detailed Information

It's time to do bulk purchasing of #9 and #10 envelopes and 14" shells for 2001. Please take a look at the promotions plan for each of your magazines while examining the package samples provided and determine which you plan to use any in your mailings for 2001.

Response information includes all validated response information available over the last two years. Dates are grouped into yearly sections for 1998, 1999 and 2000. Response information from before 1998 is available (those of you with old gang print books can review response information included there) - however, due to declining response rates your safest bet is to stick with the past few years.

For 2000 we have included efforts with completed response rates as of late August. There are two subsets which break out efforts by "rever" and "new name" or other categories, if applicable.

Other notes which are important to the job appear at the right edge of each line item. All efforts are domestic, unless otherwise noted. "Combo" indicates that the package mailed to a combination of domestic and international names. "1/4" and similar marks indicate the placement in a test. In this case, the package placed first in a four-way test. Other important variables are noted in italics directly below the package impacted. Information on changes in color and text are typically located in this area.

As with previous years, all components printed are based on the "shell" method. Remember, these blank shells are printed in advance and imprinted via one--color lasering (in black) at the time of mailing.

Some designs feature an entirely lasered format - these are called two-color laser designs. This tends to be confusing. No preprinted shells are preordered, as the forms are entirely lasered (in two colors) at the time of mailing. Blank paper for the two color lasering process is automatically ordered by the promotions staff at the time the Work Order is submitted. Carriers and return envelopes for such mailings are ordered with the gang print.
