Gang PAN numbers follow different format from typical PAN numbers.

Detailed Information

As we began in 2000, a single PAN for each publication will be used for gang print production. This procedure makes the final billing and accounting process quicker and easier.

A gang PAN has already been designated for each of your publications. This gang PAN will be the first PAN appearing on your January report. The example for Telephony magazine is TELV01GANG. This shows that it's a 2001 PAN being used for the gang print. All gang PANs will use this same format. There will be ONLY ONE PAN per publication.

As with any PAN, you will need to submit a PAN request to accounting. Write "Gang PAN" at the top of your PAN requests. 2001 gang PANs are available now. (No other 2001 PANs may be submitted until further notice.)

As with previous years, you will use estimates based on what you're planning to order. Accounting will be provided with these same estimates. As with other projects printed through the promotions department, each print project will appear under the PAN as a job number (J#06597, for ex.). The job number is the tracking number used by Print Services.

Each component (14" shells, #9's, etc.) will have a job number and each job number will appear as a line item on the PAN. The TOTAL you order for each component will appear -- there will be no breakouts by version. (Job numbers will be provided for you in tracking the billing progress.) I will have a master sheet outlining individual charges for those of you who wish to check your charges in detail.

Billing for the First Half gang will not take place until January, so you should expect charges to hit your PAN report by the March report.
