Out with the old and in with the new!

Detailed Information

Since all shells that are non-compatible with double-window envelopes will be trashed, there will no longer be a need to note to the promotions staff or to Marketing Technologies whether to use "new" or "old" shells.

From a layout standpoint, all shells for 2000 and 2001 are identical - all follow the same standards for perfing, placement of logo/return address for double-windows, etc. Any shells remaining from before 2000 also follow the same basic standards, so no special treatment will be necessary.

You WILL still need to note on your gang orders and/or your Marketing Technologies checklists if you are using anything that doesn't meet the "standard." For example:

  • Are you using a single-window carrier? The standard is a double-window.
  • Are you using 11" shells? The standard is 14".
  • If you have Olathe fulfillment, are you still using up magazine-specific CRE's? The standard is generic CRE's for Olathe fulfilled publications.

Note any of these exceptions on your Work Order and Marketing Technologies checklist.

Effective with all mail dates as of JANUARY 1, 2001 the YELLOW "Shell & CRE Usage" form will no longer be required.

Effective IMMEDIATELY, begin using the new Marketing Technologies checklist. Click here to see a sample.
