If after reviewing your stock you have materials you will not use, donate them to the "Pot."

Detailed Information

Leftover shells and double window carriers are almost never trashed, they are added to the "Pot" which is the name given to stock which is given away FREE on an as-needed basis. Almost everyone has benefited from the wonders of the Pot.

What goes into the Pot? How do I know what to keep?

The Pot is the place for leftovers that your publications will never use. For example, your publication orders 10M pieces of "Renew Today" shells and printed double window carriers. You mail 9,000 pieces, leaving 1,000 after the mailing. What happens with the 1,000 extra pieces?

1. If the package is a success, keep the leftovers and use them in 2007, ordering enough to fill in for a full mailing.

2. If the package was a failure, determine if one of your other publications could use it successfully (a bomb on one title can easily be a success on another).

3. If the package was a general bomb, or if it won't work on your other titles, let Bridget know during your meeting that the extra 1,000 may be added to the Pot!

4. Once stock is added to the Pot, you no longer "own" it.

Obviously, if Plain Double Window carriers were ordered, they could be used on any title and with any package, and are never donated to the Pot. The same principle applies to generic CRE's (those used with Hallmark's fulfillment address) -- they are never candidates for the Pot.
